RYLI 2018 - Dedicated to Ella Griggs

Roswell Lacrosse Community,

Tomorrow Roswell Youth Lacrosse will hold our 15th annual lacrosse tournament.  The Roswell Youth Lacrosse Invitational will host more than 80 teams and is the Roswell Lacrosse community’s largest fundraiser.  The funds raised by the tournament allow the Roswell Youth Lacrosse Association (RYLA) to make investments in our lacrosse community.

Earlier this year the Roswell lacrosse community had one of our Jr. Select players suffer a stroke while at lacrosse practice.  This year’s tournament is dedicated to Ella Griggs.  During the tournament, multisport 3 (Field 9) has been renamed Ella Griggs field, #shineonella wrist bands will be sold in Lax village, Roswell lacrosse players will have either “shineonella” stickers on their helmet or “shineonella” eye black patches and a Komodo Joe grill will be raffled off.  100% of the proceeds from wristband sales and the raffle will be going to Ella’s gofundme account.  There are several ways to contribute to Ella Griggs throughout the weekend and we are hoping to continue to show Ella our support by our donations; please stop by Lax Village and buy a #shineonella wristband and throw in a few raffle tickets too!!

Earlier this week the Roswell Youth Lacrosse Association Board held its monthly meeting where the board voted to contribute $5,000 to Ella’s gofundme account in the name of the Roswell Youth Lacrosse Community.  The board did not make the donation, your generosity over the years made the donation possible.  This is one of the great things about our community and we are thankful for your support!

You may have noticed the “big green monster” that has been constructed at the far end on Multisport 2.  The bounce back wall that has long been discussed has now been constructed and will be dedicated at a 9am Saturday morning ceremony.  We are so excited to watch our kids enjoy this wall while improving their skills.

As President of RYLA, the board and I are blessed to be able to use your funds in ways that will affect our lacrosse community for years to come.

I hope everyone has an awesome tournament.  Let’s show Ella how generous this community can be!
